Holy crap that translator should be taken out back and shot. Most distracting thing ever. Dear NewsNet: When the live translater is so utterly incompetent, please either leave the French bits in French, or at the very least go back and re-do the translation after the fact.

bah, she's fantastic. She's light and adorable. I would much rather have that be the face of Canada rather than some stuffy govenor who would perpetuate the myth that Canadians are boring and reserved.
I guess this is some sort of tradition. I saw this event televised last year, and I swear that Clarkson was drunk and up on stage singing. I think she did a duet with an also drunk-seeming Martin.
Yeah, that dinner been around for a long time. But it used to be an in camera event where everyone agreed that everything was off the record, so people let loose and traded pointed barbs and other things that proper decorum and political correctness would not usually allow.
The interesting part about this dinner is that all journalists are invited to attend, but any politician that wants to attend has to be invited by a journalist.
