It was fucking 39°C here today. They're closing the Parthenon between 12 and 5 for the tourists' own welfare. Uuuuggghhhhh I came here in June to avoid the August great!!

Anyway we got to the hotel mid-afternoon so we just caught up on sleep in the A/C from our red-eye instead of suffering in that great.

I've had some serious stomach issues for the last couple weeks after drinking way too much during the anarchist Bookfair weekend, so I stopped drinking for a while. I just had a beer, a couple "sour diesel" cocktails at the bar across the hotel (it's not even that sour; it's a nice ouzo/wine cocktail) and topped it off with some nice bar rail scotch we don't have in Ontario and I'm so happy. We'll see tomorrow how that goes for my stomach. Holding up so far, after all that airport walking today (!)

Speaking of stomach issues, half the time I think i have liver issues and it's not that (though mine is pretty fatty from all the alcohol now) but I listened to a liver doctor's podcast and the only three good things you can do for your liver are:
1) less alcohol (duh)
2) less carbs
3) exercise
Bonus: black coffee is good, but somewhat less proven

So this human machine I have is perfect, if only I would just be less sedentary... I'll try to skip the extra sugar if i can.
