You know how messed up we are in this country when we can't even put the French name of our national broadcaster in print? A Toronto Star article on the leaked/trial-ballooned Harper fiscal deficit trick goes like this:

"The French-language network of the CBC reported Monday that..."

Writing "Radio-Canada" would be have been much shorter.

(I'm not blaming the Star per se, but the social context that leads it to make such a choice.)
