You should absolutely watch Jonathan Glazer's Zone of Interest. Preferably with a good sound system. Maybe in a theatre? The sound is absolutely a character in the film, and it's the other category that the film won an Oscar for, other than Best International Feature. It becomes more and more relevant as we let the new Nakba in Palestine continue.

Do you know of good films and novels featuring activists/progressives? I mean fiction, or at least very fictionalized history, not biopics. Dealing on the interaction between activists more than on their activism per se.

I'm thinking about Jim Munroe's novels right off the top of my head, and then I draw a blank. I think Kenneth Brannaugh (or some other British director with K in his name) had a film on the Spanish Civil War? I saw that years ago at Le Clap in Québec City. There was also an Australian comedy about a woman who had Stalin's child, who then becomes a postal worker, then a union leader, and then full circle... I also saw that a very long time ago as well, when I spoke more French than English in my daily life. Actually, that's debatable which one I speak more of right now, since I'm sitting right by my cousin at work, and we use French to cover up all of our bitching, even though half the place has working knowledge of French. Heheheh.
