reading wednesday: whale weekly

I subscribe to an unfathomable amount of mailing lists and I just let these emails get ignored in some of Gmail's judiciously choosen themed tabs. So when I subscribed to Whale Weekly, first I thought, what am I doing, I want to read this from the start. But frankly, I am not going to read this from the start unless I'm bed-stricken, and this mailing list drip works, so when I chanced upon one of the weekly missives recently as I was randomly digging in another folder, I moved the default destination to my social folder, where my DW notifications go. A folder which I am sure to look at and try to drain regularly. So here I am, with this week's late Whale Weekly.

Anyway I won't quote the rest; I was already getting a sense of what I was getting into by all of
sabotabby's arm-flailing about it, but I still wasn't ready for this baroque stuff!!!

Date: 2024-04-18 02:31 pm (UTC)And the weekly drip is the right format for it, esp. for me as an ESL reader, because for all my fluency with regular text, my reading speed considerably slows down here. If I tried to read this one whole chapter per sitting, I would probably get a headache...
