I still have bluesky invite codes, if you want one. I'm not offering regularly because I don't actually want everyone and their dog on there, it still hasn't been poisoned yet. But if you're reading this post in your feed, I can hook you up.

Do you like them? I have an account, but haven't checked it in weeks; I got bored. Maybe I just didn't have a big enough network or something, and I'd have been happier if I'd joined it with a gang of friends. (The one Bluesky user I know in meatspace had gone the same route before I arrived. We continue to communicate on Discord, not Bluesky.)

That said, I was never a Twitter user, having failed to understand the use case for short public messages. (I still don't really "get" it, even after trying Bluesky.)

Yeah I dig BlueSky the most. The main downside is that it's still mostly North American. An upside is that many non-cis-white-het-men who have fled Twitter have landed there. :) It has a way better interface than Mastodon, though I specifically use deck.blue as my web client and GraySky as my Android app. Basically I use Twitter and BlueSky as newsfeeds for non-mainstream news things, serendipitous finds, and some good fun. Twitter has the best algorithm for surfacing interesting content that you would be interested in from outside your feed, but BlueSky has interesting dynamic lists as well. BlueSky hasn't been invaded by trolls yet ( denise is super critical of their Trust & Safety team or lack thereof, but she's still there all day being super interesting) so there's way less toxicity... If you haven't checked it in a few months it's worth looking again to see if some of your faves have made the jump. It's growing.

I think the invites cap at 5 because I've been there for a while. Might as well create alts and backups. :)
