Yeah, that's been nagging at me for the last day or two as being really screwy.
But the crazy thing that really gets me, is that votes are down just about everywhere; not only Dem votes but Rep votes as well. Did some precincts just toss out the votes altogether, and punch in completely unrelated numbers that happened to show the "desired" candidate winning?
I'm leaning toward believing, as one commenter on that page puts it, that "the stink is rising from the 2004 election, and not this one." That numbers from this year are not down so much as inflated numbers from past years are finally being shown for what they were. And that this is finally one of the straighter elections in AK.
Except that fivethirtyeight's prediction numbers are on complete crack. Which normally wouldn't bother me: I put next-to-no faith in political polls... except that the 538 numbers were so good everywhere else.
At least the election isn't in the balance over Alaska (!), so if there's a clean-up to do, it should be easier to be done rather than having thousands of lawyers on both sides gearing up for a SCOTUS battle :)

Which is all to say: yeah. I got nothing.
