I dunno. This seems to me mostly just to be a rearrangement of his famous 2004 DNC speech. It's a good speech, don't get me wrong. But nothing new or revelatory.

Perhaps the latter, then :) I find it fascinating that how much I'm moved by his speeches has less to do with what he's saying and more to do with the crowd response... says something about human nature I think.

Obama did really well in that clip, especially in that last crescendo. He knew exactly what to emphasize, how to throw in references to Virginia politicians for the crowd, and how to modulate his speed, volume, and tone. He sounded educated without sounding highfalutin. Not all his speeches are equal, but his ability to deliver the goods when it matters has probably been the single biggest reason he's made it this far.
