Libérez-nous des libéraux is the most popular track to date by Québec hip hop act Loco Locass. LL are ardent separatists but also very talented at rhyming and at making puns. They have good production as well, so the whole package is quite digestable. Libérez-nous des libéraux is a no-holds barrel attack on Liberals in power, both in Québec City and Ottawa. It's more an attack on these parties than on Canada, although a little anti-federalism (and it's not even accurate at that) peppers the song. It's been one of the most popular tracks in Québec in the last year and it's been a headache for Jean Charest... I like it a lot. I might translate it because I really want to share it, but most of the inventiveness will be lost in translation. I'll just post it in French to start for the Frenchies in the crowd. I know it's pretty much incomprehensible without some background knowledge of Québec, but hey. This is some of the best hip hop in the country.
