Podcast Friday - Blood on the ice

My long-suffering Podcast Friday queue will not get any reprieve as I just pluck from a currently playing series to bring in particular to ioklopon's attention:
Canadaland Commons has been looking at the underbelly of Canadian hockey, and boy is it nasty. Seriously wondering if there's any other sport/national system in the world where there is such a density of nastiness, from corruption to child abuse/sexual abuse, and of course our good old friend racism. (Yeah I see you raising your hand in the back, U.S. Gymnastics :( )

I gotta pair this with probably the best and most bitter song ever written about hockey.

i will listen. i didn't think i could hate a sport i loved more than cycling, and then i found hockey.

Frankly these days I listen to Détours and Commons as my favourite Canadaland shows, and pick and choose which episodes among the two flagship shows I watch, though I appreciate Jonathan Goldsbie having taken over Shortcuts. Émilie is the GOAT and Arshy Mann has become really good at what he's doing.
