You should totally post this to your LJ! The point is to start a discussion... In fact, I'm not going to reply to your interests UNLESS you post it to your LJ. :]
As for my writing about "cool" stuff, it hasn't been accidental. I always got annoyed when people put "music" or "politics" (which I know you have. hehe.) as their interests... What does tell me about them? Everyone likes music. I also noticed that some of my friends at the time, like apropos, had a bunch of interests who were unique to them, that weren't underlined in their list because no one else had them. So I actually went out of my way to choose LJ-interests that are less common, so instead of "politics", I have "anarcho-communism" and "another world is possible". Instead of "adventure games", I have "pirates of pestulon", which were featured in Space Quest 3.
So, when I go out of my way to put something weird, when people ask me about it, I talk about weird stuff, instead of people asking me to talk about "politics". Your responses hint at more things you would have to say about your interests, stuff about which I'll ask questions if you repost in your LJ. :] And then you get to ask other people about their interests, and when they post the meme, you can ask them to ask you about more of your interests. :P
