If calamari rings were made from the squid they would be the size of tractor tires, one expert said.

Well thank god they got an expert to comment on that! A mere layman may have erroneously estimated that the calamari rings would be the size of drainage pipes, or perhaps the moon.

Bwahahaha. I was thinking about that assertion a bit... I think whoever made it realized that it didn't matter if s/he said anything intelligent, that this was a case of striking the public's imagination...
