So I don't know if Harper had decided to keep the trick up his sleeve, or if Bell Canada's conversion into an income trust was the final straw, but the big income trust tax announcement from Jim Flaherty at the close of the markets today is definitely creating some distraction from Layton's brinksmanship. Pretty damn good timing, probably not coincidental at all.
