frandroid: Library of Celsus at Ephesus, Turkey (books)
Finished reading:
Pirate Utopia by Bruce Sterling, reading while tabling at the Anarchist bookfair in Hamilton. I had finished the novella a while ago but hadn't read all the extras at the end. The interviews with Sterling, with the illustrator, and with the editor I think. This stuff was actually more interesting than the book itself!

Currently reading:
Hundred Years War on Palestine. Looks like I'm going to take a hundred years to finish this off.
frandroid: A representation of bunch of covid-19 virions (covid-19)
I'm so sleepy these days, which is partly why I'm not reading much of 100YWP. I think I'm still feeling the effects of catching Covid in July. Like I'm not out of wind or anything, but sleepier. Being pretty social these last few weeks probably has something to do with it. But I'm feeling the impact of the effort of work. My sleep is also a bit messy. Maybe I'll take some melatonin to put things in order.

After posting on Facebook about the CO2 levels on the train to the fair, and about wearing a 3M duck bill mask for the first time (I highly recommend it even if it's ugly as fuck), an old friend wrote to me to talk about the months-long struggle she had with her lungs after an earlier infection, and having more trouble with a recent infection. A big reminder to stay on my guard.

I'm trying to navigate this with work. The pub we went to on Monday night have wide open windows, we were the only party in the restaurant we went to on Wednesday for lunch and they had 20ft ceilings, and the CO2 at work stays under 800ppm... I wore my duck bill at the comedy club though, too many people tightly packed together.

The new vaccines will be available to the general population at the end of October. I'm pretty stoked. Unfortunately, after massively restricting access for Novavax during the last batch, Health Canada "determined that the demand didn't justify ordering Novavax this time around". Like fuck there's no demand!! Talk about supporting your domestic industry... I'm particularly annoyed because other than J&J (which was never that interesting/effective), Novavax is the only North American vax missing from my collection. Damn, I'm wondering if there were any different vaccines available in Greece, I never tried to check. When I went to Cuba I got the Abdala...
