Reading Wednesday

Currently reading: Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Got a bit further in. Went through the longest bit of uninterrupted exposition ever... Ugh. But otherwise I'm interested!

This book is already due, has a holds list on it so I can't renew it. Let's see if I can finish reading it before the Library Cryptids start threatening me with a large fine!

tags and interests

I just had an epiphany. "interests" on DW profiles should not inhabit a semantic universe different than "tags". "interests" should be tags as well, as part of the tag system. So you could decide to search for messages about "anarchism", both about the topic, and also messages from people who have shown interest in anarchism. Well I guess you don't even need to merge the tag systems for that, you should be able to get a reading page of posts by people interested in anarchism, even if it's not explicitly about anarchism. It's a bit of mf'er of a database JOIN instruction, but still... :P
