book report podcasting
Feb. 18th, 2023 10:18 amI'm listening to Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff's episode on the Diggers and Levelers, and it's missing all of the heart of these movements. I mean I know I did a whole university course on this stuff, so I'm a bit biased. But just stating the events of these movements without explaining how they were revolutionary, without quoting their incredible public documents seems like a disservice to history. I don't think I've heard the word "enclosures" in this episode. Same with a lot of episodes of other Cool Zone Media podcasts... "I read these one or two books, here's my book report".
I mean even the Revolutions Podcast spent 15 episodes on the English Civil War and it also sucked, but it was his first revolution so he was still finding his legs?
Anyway, I listen to a weekly conservative pirate history podcast that does better research than CZM.
