Next year, the use of US corn for ethanol is forecast to rise to 114 million tonnes - nearly a third of the whole projected US crop. American cars now burn enough corn to cover all the import needs of the 82 nations classed by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) as "low-income food-deficit countries". There could scarcely be a better way to starve the poor.

For those who didn't know, Obama is on the Daily Show tonight. As usual with people who are popular and whom Stewart has little to criticize about, he will completely melt, embarassingly suck up to the person and completely fail to make the interview interesting in any way, shape or form. For reference, see any interviews with pretty white hollywood women actors, and Willie Nelson's. He might get a little interesting if he talks about race...

Obama's segment on Colbert the other night was a little better than Hillary's, but they were both way overshadowed by the Rep. or Governor that was interviewed, and John Edwards' edW0RDS, even if he has no comic timing.
