I'm not a big hip hop fan. Not that I dislike it, but I'm more into noisy music like hardcore. But once in a while I collect something and add it to my collection. I had to make some space recently so I burned an MP3 CD to listened to in my discman:

Asian Dub Foundation - enemy of the enemy ; further my south asian fetish... :P
Dubmatique - Dubmatique ; a little too christian, but it sounds good
Gil Scott-Heron - The Revolution will not be televised ; I dislike some of the slower stuff, but I gotta give props to Gil. Whitey on the Moon is even better than Revolution...
Loco Locass - Amour Oral ; I disagree 66% with their politics and love their rhyming 100%. Whole fuck they're insane.
MC Solaar - Cinquieme As ; the Godfather of all French rap. Hard-hitting and intense yet not scattered. Catho as well? Can't they drop it?
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet ; what can I say that hasn't been said?
Saul Williams - Amethyst Rock Star ; Wow, now that's a political poet. My favourite track of his is not on this album though. Something about first nations, I can't remember the title right now.

And I can't look it up because I'm still at Excalibur, attempting to do some math. I think I may have to sleep here. Fuck that's stupid.

In which direction should I expand my hip hop collection?
