Another month, another board meeting

One of the blabbermouths is presiding over this month's meeting, where she's not supposed to be opining that much about stuff without handing the chair to someone else. So she's asked to hand the chair to someone else on every single issue we've had to discuss, at one point doing so to go off-topic when it's her job to keep us on topic. I've just decided to disconnect from the meeting for 5 minutes every time people are starting to have fruitless or off-topic conversations. I'm on my third departure so far.

is this, like, the night that all HoAs have board meetings? Because I just got thru watching one myself. It was a shitshow, but not for the same reason as yours.

Monday is way too early and you want to review last-minute materials the night before, or two. So Wednesday seems like a good day...

You should employ the tactics of my old high school speech teacher, who had a buzzer he would press if someone got off topic in an extemporaneous speech (plus a bunch of other stuff... a bell you would ring if someone said 'like', having the whole class go "tss" like a drum roll if someone said "but, um", a sign to hold up if someone mispronounced "jewelry", and so on...)

At the first tabmeet I went to, (tabmeets being gatherings of people on tabnet, my Vancouver BBS crew) someone brought a whole bunch of foam weapons. I grabbed the comically-large hammer and kept trying to literally hit on the most attractive person there.

I miss foam weapons.

Foam weapons are great b/c you can use them to solve some disputes but they only deal 1 HP of IRL damage. We need to make more use of them on the left.
