Layton releases open letter to Bono

NDP Leader Jack Layton today wrote to Bono, advising the singer of how much his much-hyped speech to the Liberal leadership convention has affected the first Liberal Throne Speech and budget under Paul Martin.

Every major issue raised by Bono has been ignored by the Liberals. “Like you, I hoped Prime Minister Paul Martin would take your words to heart and improve Canada’s place in the world,” wrote Layton. “Unfortunately, in the first Throne Speech and budget, this has not been the case.”
