1. bacteria:
   This is totally Jan Sapp's fault. Bacteria constitute something like 90% of the earth's biomass and the darwinian evolutionary synthesis model doesn't even mention them!
2. communications:
   Hmmm, this is a bit stupid, being on LJ. But I'm interested in both the media and the various forms communication takes place under.
3. environmentalism:
   I'm interested in a better environment, but also in the strategies that the movement uses to further itself.
4. illegal but legitimate:
   Break the law for all the right reasons.

6. onion bhajias:
   Top 2 in Toronto:
   1) Little India Restaurant, on Queen and Duncan. They're red, probably due to some sort of unholy dye. They're tasty!
   2) Nataraj Restaurant, on Bloor at Brunswick. For 3 or 4 bucks, you get enough bhajias to feed yourself as if it was a whole meal. I've ordered that single item for takeout a few times.
7. punk:
   The cultural vector to introduce people to anarchism today. Pretty bankrupt as a "movement" trying to change the world, but still pretty good for numerous TAZes.
8. solitaire:
   I do too much mindless time-killing, although these days it's more from Alpha Centauri than Solitaire.
9. the joy of argument:
   Why else am I alive?
10. zines:
    Along with punk rock, used to be an important cultural vector to promote Do It Yourself culture, i.e. self-empowerment, independence from others, and looking for one's own way to do things. The layperson's version of reverse engineering what we see around us. The Internet has made them partly useless as there are much easier and cheaper ways to self-publish now, but the aesthetic is attractive. Plus, you don't need a PDA to read zines on the bus.
