frandroid: (doomsday clock)
I was drunk out of my ass but when Rick Mercer mentioned a radioactive product and contamination on his show's rerun tonight, I wrote a note in my hand for later retrieval. A few hours later, I had indeed completely forgotten about it, but the note was there to prompt me.

Concerned Citizens of Renfrew County & Area (CCRC) or (CCRCA) document ongoing Tritium contamination for the last 5 decades by the Canadian government and associated companies, particularly SRB, in and around Chalk River Laboratories.

I don't like the new doomsday clock. Imagine this clock userpic at 5 minutes to midnight.

So it seems that I have lost the tuque that I was wearing in this userpic. This saddens me greatly, especially since I think just dropped it from my pocket in the elevator when I went down to get a friend who could have just rung me up. It was also a gift from F. I liked it a lot. :(

Anyway, a few of you reading this are knitters, so I'm kinda looking for funky tuque designs, and would actually be ready to pay someone to knit one if something strikes my fancy. No boring plain black tuque for me... Thus, tuque linkings and proposals are welcome. I like complex textures and surfaces.

I hate vinyl collectors: and the only organization they would be catering to is my hunger

Matthew Behrens' long analysis of the Supreme Court of Canada victory in the National Security Certificates battle.

Even though this battle was won through the courts by lawyers (and that war is not over yet), Matthew Behrens has been a steadfast defender of the rights for all to get a fair trial, and specifically a defender of those who have been unfairly and indefinitely jailed under the security certificates, which has inflicted them with great emotional, psychological and physical harm. Behrens has worked tirelessly to bring public attention on these detentions, staging protests, letter-writing campaigns and various attention-grabbing media stunts. This victory yesterday was as much Behrens' victory as it was for the lawyers and for the prisoners themselves. Behrens' efforts puts many of us to shame for not stepping up to the plate and doing something as well. My hat is off to Matthew.
