The video game Call of Duty 4 managed to parody the AC-130 gunship by doing a completely straight simulation of what it's like to run an AC-130 gunship (the most video-game-like of all military exercises). The exclamations the soldiers make in the game ("Boom!" "Nice hit!" "Ka-boom." "That's one for the highlight reel") are exactly the kind of patter you hear from real AC-130 videos (skip ahead to 6:00 to hear the soldiers providing sound effects).
Can't we just get the terrorists Call of Duty or something and then they can all duke it out in some virtual environment that doesn't involve peppering the earth with giant smoking craters... ? :P
