political theatre or political circus?

Did he or did he not call her a dog?  Do we or do we not care?  Although I must say I enjoy the parallels that the Liberals have made from this remark to funding cuts for Status of Women.

He probably called her a specific kind of dog. I wouldn't put it past him. I still want to know if he's schtupping Rice.

It's bad that I'm vaguely amused by this, isn't it?

Oh, I'm amused too. But that's basically all canadian political news for the day...

There's a MacKay/Rice doggy-style joke to be made here, but I'm bad at setting up jokes.

It doesn't matter if he did or did not; only that it were believable. Were the situation reversed, the Conservatives would have done the exact same thing. Unfortunately for the Conservatives, they've made a number of blunders bordering on the idiotic in recent weeks and, hence, people and the media are willing to believe anything about them. Personally, I don't doubt that he harbors such sentiments about her - but then, I do too and she didn't scorn me; insofar as people go, she's pretty low - but I think he has enough tact not to say them near a microphone or in the House.
