I seems funny to be posting here to say "if you want off Twitter, join Mastodon..." but it's more of a "if Twitter fails, where are we all going?" and unfortunately, it's not here. Or anyway, not just here.

For some reason, Mastodon thinks that fencing communities is a feature, so following people is a PITA. You can install the following Firefox add-on, which somewhat improves the process:

You can set automatic cross-posting in one direction or the other from Twitter here:

The apps seem easier to use than the site. I've install Tusky and the official Mastodon app for now (android) to see how my usage goes.
