(no subject)

Ten things I've done that you may not have: (stolen from [livejournal.com profile] hsifyppah, who stole it from [livejournal.com profile] estrellada, keep the chain going)

- Been to Goa and seen dogs chase cows off the beach
- Visited a Russian submarine
- Buried a dead person with a shovel
- Disposed of a dead person's ashes in a lake
- Hitch-hiked across Canada (Well, the part that matters, i.e. from Québec to BC)
- Visited a communist country, post Soviet Union =)
- Made maple syrup
- Killed squirrels with a pellet gun
- Rode a dogsled
- Stopped eating meat for 10 years

Clearly, I ran out of interesting things towards the end. If anyone has done at least 5 of these things though, make yourself known!

I've been to Goa, visited communist countries pre and post Soviet Union, and was vegetarian and/or vegan off and on for 10 years. I know that's only 3, but I think they're cool ones to share!

Oh yeah, you're the crazy globe-trotter or something =)

nope, haven't done a single thing on your list! hmmm... do I want to know more about how the person you buried came to be dead?

Well, there is nothing really juicy (or rotten) that I can tell you. My uncle, who among other vehicles owned a backhoe, was the usual contractor burying people at the local cemetary, but one time he couldn't spare the time to bury some dead guy, so he contracted out the job to me, sans backhoe of course. So I went to the cemetary, where a casket in a hole awaited me, took a shovel, and buried the guy. It was a bit creepy (in spite of being on the busiest street in the parish, the cemetary manages to be surprisingly quiet) but that just made me work faster.

I think I got 10 bucks out of this.

ten bucks to shovel six foot's worth of earth? yeesh! :) that's like the older kids' financial equivalent of my friends' parents paying us 10c a jar to pick rocks off the lawn.

Hey, it was done under an hour. I think it took me another 4 years before I got such a good hourly wage again. =)

Parts of Canada that matter, oh ha ha frandroid.

I was just waiting for someone to say something about that...

...and you took the bait =)

I've actually visited every province but NF&L, including the Maritimes twice, all the way to Îles de la Madeleine, Cape Breton as well, and of course Halifax, which has lots in common with Québec City, my hometown. I wish I could return to Halifax and IdlM, I liked both very much.

You've been to Nunavut? Sounds like it could make for an interesting story.

Nunavut is not a province, it's a territory.

I didn't realize there was a difference until I saw your comment and looked it up. My bad.

Considering how unimportant they are (although before Nunavut was taken from it, the North West Territories (that's one territory) were probably larger than Europe), you're more than excused. =)
