I think that my new downstairs neighbour plays violin at a quarter to 1am and she's damn good at it. Unless she's playing violin on her sound system, but I know she went to school for music and came back recently... I'll have to investigate. I'm not complaining.

ETA: Okay it's been going on long enough, no way she's playing. I'm still madly curious. This neighbour is not a stranger; she's the daughter of another coöp member I've known since I've moved here. She's just always been the shy daughter so I don't know her much.

Okay I've just realized what's gripping me about this music. Even though it's violin, it's very adjacent to 1970s Ethiopian jazz masters like Getachew Mekurya, which I'm a huge fan of.
