Reading Wednesday

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. It's a book I started reading a long time ago that's just been sitting below other books, and now I'm breaking through the pile. I was thinking of abandoning it forever but I read the page I was at and it was useful. So I will continue reading.

Huh. That's one I feel that I should have read, at some point, and didn't because I came of age when a classical education was not trendy.

I frankly don't know why I picked it up, and wasn't really planning to read it anymore, but at some point, listening through to The History of Rome podcast, it went over his story and Meditations itself, and it made me think it would be worth reading, so up the reading list it went. He was a philosopher-emperor of sorts... Who better to rule than he who wasn't planning to and didn't want to but took the job seriously when it came to him? (I mean, other than The People, but the Republic was long dead at that point :P )
