I've watched the BBC series, and no, I don't think so. It's definitely not pro-Israeli propaganda, if that's what you're wondering. It's more a cautionary tale of what happens when you're vaguely leftist but don't have a coherent political analysis. FWIW, I thought the adaptation was incredible.

I haven't seen the film version.
