punk conference

North America's first international scholarly conference on punk will be held at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, on April 24-26, 2008.

So, punk IS dead after all.

THE PUNK ARCHIVE: Special Collections, in SFU's Bennett Library, is beginning to assemble material for the world's first punk archive.

Seriously? I don't believe it.

Patients séropositifs : la discrimination perdure

La Presse obtained a study by the Public Health Agency of Canada (through an FAI request, not voluntarily...) about the discrimination HIV/AIDS patients face in the healthcare system, including dealing with dentists. Many of these people refuse to deal with them, some of often implying that their treatment is not necessary, since they have a lowered life expectancy anyway! It's quite stunning that the doctors that are supposed to treat these patients refuse them service.

Vote for MMP

I'm giving $30.30 to the Yes campaign in the referendum on proportional representation in Ontario. Will you match me? Or at least give $10.10? Reply below if you make a donation.

On Thursday at 10am, there will be a ceremonial burial of First Past the Post (FPTP) at Queen's Park. I'm working at the time, but maybe you can go!

I mean, who wouldn't love helping out the province fix the electoral system, so that the Family Coalition Party NDP gets its fair share of the vote?!
