Okay I took a Canadian Native Lit course last summer and although it ended up being a history course, with a more interesting narrative to it, I read and was absolutely disgusted with the Oka situation, even did a presentation on it. That's why this new issue is equally disturbing. A good book to read (if you haven't but are interested) is Circles of time aboriginal land rights and resistance in Ontario by Professor David McNab (who teaches the course @ York). It's available online through www.netlibrary.com, or the Osgoode Library on campus.

I keep wondering when will North America wake up and smell the coffee. Don't you just LOVE the way the media jumps on ANY opportunity to twist the truth and fuck with our willing little minds? Makes me second guess my "potential" career choice...
